It is with great honor that Fellowship Power Lunch is announcing our third annual Veterans Appreciation November Event.
The FPL Veterans Appreciation November Event is a luncheon to honor and celebrate our local Military Veterans and their families, and to bring more awareness to the community of Veterans and non-profits that support Veterans.
We are proud to announce that our speaker this year is a Vietnam Veteran, a Purple Heart recipient, a speaker, an author, and an all-around man of solid character, Mr. Dave Roever!
At the height of the Vietnam War, Dave joined the US Navy and served as a river boat gunner in the elite Brown Water Black Beret – until a tragedy occurred. His survival and ensuing life with his faithful wife Brenda at his side is miraculous.
Dave presents his transforming news with gripping humor and heartfelt conviction. His audiences laugh and cry as Dave communicates a message of joy in the midst of pain, and victory in the middle of tragedy. He challenges his audience to go deeper in their walk.
Dave’s military awards include:
- Purple Heart Medal
- Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon
- National Defense Service Medal
- Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars
- Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Medal, Color with Palm)
- Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Civil Actions Medal, First Class Color with Palm)
- Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 device
Dave’s civilian awards include:
- Honorary Doctorate
- The Outstanding Civilian Service Medal, from the U.S. Department of the Army
Some of Dave’s best quotes:
“The devil lowered the boom and took his best shot. But I’m still here because no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Greater is He that is within me than he that is in the world.”
“When the grenade blew, it did its damage. No one is supposed to live through that. But God had a plan for my life!”
“I’m glad I lived. I’m glad I’m here. I’m glad I’m able to tell you, ‘Don’t take your life!’ God gave it to you. Give tomorrow a chance!”
All Veterans and their spouses are our guests and can attend free of charge. Register before tickets run out.
The general public may purchase tickets for themselves, purchase tickets for a Veteran or Veterans, purchase a full table, or donate to the cause.
