WHAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR…WELCOME TO A NEW YEAR OF FELLOWSHIP POWER LUNCH 5th annual VETERANS’ APPRECIATION NOVEMBER EVENT!
Our largest event of the year, anticipating 300+ guests. Complimentary to all Veterans, their spouses, and First Responders.
We are very honored to announce this year’s inspirational, uplifting, guest Veteran speaker, SSgt. Jason Morgan.
Staff Sergeant Jason Morgan grew up in North Dallas and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1989. After several years of intense physical and mental training, SSgt Morgan qualified as a member of an elite special operations unit that provided meteorological and combat support for special operations in denied territories and behind enemy lines. As a combat weatherman or Gray Beret, SSgt Morgan was attached to the Army Special Forces in which only 72 airmen are qualified for this job. In his 10 years in the Air Force, SSgt Morgan deployed in real world missions with the Army Special Forces and the 160th SOAR (Special Operations Aviation Regiment).
In 1999, Morgan was thrown from his vehicle after it careened off a cliff during a counter narcotics mission in South America. The vehicle rolled over Morgan and caused life-threatening injuries, including a debilitating spinal cord injury.
Morgan, a Texas native, would spend half of the next seven years recovering in the hospital, unsure if he would ever be well again. Shortly thereafter, he would slip into a coma and not wake for two months. The first words he spoke when he came out of his coma was Isaiah 40:31:
“For those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on the wings of eagles. They will run and not be weary. They will walk and not be faint.”
Now a paraplegic as a direct result of SSgt Morgan’s accident, the road to recovery has been long and daunting; plagued with debilitating pain and dozens of surgeries. SSgt. Morgan is joining us to share how he has emerged from adversity stronger than before.
“Finding Life’s Purpose Amid Extreme Adversity”
Among many, many accomplishments, SSgt. Jason Morgan is the best-selling co-author of A Dog Called Hope: The Wounded Warrior and the Dog Who Saved Him.” His book is now published in 7 countries including Russia and has won two major international awards for excellence and featured on the Today Show.
