This month’s guest speaker is a wife and a mother of five, with a bachelor’s degree and an MBA. At the age of 35, she found herself in a financial hardship, due to the 2007 recession. Unable to find employment, she had no idea that what was to come next would be “walking out God’s calling.”
The Army’s max age limit is 35. She knew if she was going to do this, this would be it. In 2010, during the recession, she joined the Army and served her country as an aviation operations specialist. She completed a 9-month tour in Afghanistan and a three-year tour in Germany. Surviving a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) from a near-fatal accident, her military career ended.
While still working on her healing journey and still wanting to help others, she knew her recovery was linked to serving others, specifically Women Veterans. Now she’s the proud founder of the podcast series that curated a virtual community called She Vets It, established in 2017.
Come out and meet Althea Williams, Retired US Army Combat Veteran, as she shares her story, “Finding Purpose by Accident”.
